Biography

A few words about myself as you may wonder about the veracity of the information on this website about Oral Surgery, as practised in the UK.

My name is John Doran. I am a fully-registered Oral Surgeon. I work in hospitals (currently at Medway Maritime, Maidstone & Queen Victoria Hospitals, East Grinstead) and ‘outside’ on the High Street. I work at BUPA as a consultant Oral Surgeon.

I am a Clinical Teacher in Oral Surgery at the King’s Dental Institute.

I carry out the ‘canon’ of oral surgical procedures as well as having a special interest in dental acupuncture, dental implants, dento-legal matters and forensic odontology. I am also trained in the use of sedation.

I am an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England for the Faculty of Dental Surgery. I examine for the MJDP and the M Oral Surgery and have been a tutor for the RCS England for the Certificate in Minor Oral Surgery.
